This article shows you that Docker Containers are a great way to run SQL Server locally but only when needed!
At the end of the article Walker states “… maybe you’ll use Docker to host SQL Server on your development machine instead of installing SQL Server Developer.”. This could be a huge time and cost savings when developer workstations can be built without installing a copy of SQL Server developer edition.
